Hypnosis has been a complementary tool in medicine for quite a while. Nevertheless, many people doubt the efficiency due to the general perception of imposture hypnosis. This critical review of the research literature focuses on the empirical research on the effectiveness of hypnotic treatments as adjuncts to medical care for anxiety and highlights the facts.
