HELP FOR ALZHEIMERS' AND DEMENTIA SUFFERERS AND THIER HELPERS
Music is the Key
It’s heartbreaking to see someone you love slipping away in the grip of Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia.
But now there is hope that we can help stave off this sickness and improve the patient’s quality of life. And there’s reason to believe that music is the key. Whether at home or in a nursing facility, PAVLOVE helps sufferers to find renewed meaning and connection in their lives through the power of personalised music.
PAVLOVE is an intelligent system that creates personal playlists for triggering associated memories with the intention of stimulating the listeners mind and improving their life quality.
Personal Musical Memory Triggers
Anyone who has seen the film Alive Inside knows how music can work wonders. This has been a huge inspiration for us to put a lot of time, energy, and love into building PAVLOVE.
Our approach is based on the concept that the long-term memory is the last part of the brain to be affected, and that the right music can trigger associations to deep memories that can activate the user and improve their quality of life.
We have developed a system for identifying so-called “Personal Musical Memory Triggers” and compiling them into ultra-personalised playlists.
This music taps into the deep memories that have not yet been lost to dementia, and brings user back to life, enabling them be themselves again, to converse, socialise, and be present..
