Privacy Policy Summary

All information in one place

  • Who we are:

    • We are SonicTonic. A team of musicologists, composers and designers, who work closely with doctors and scientists to provide tools for the therapeutic use of music & sound.
    • Please contact us
  • What precise categories of personal data the app wants to collect and process:

    • Google Play Store Authentification (OAuth) & Performance Data of the App
  • Why the data processing is necessary (for what precise purposes):

    • (OAuth): To ensure that our users own the tonics they have once purchased, a synchronisation to a database is necessary. The index to identify the user needs to be unique but also needs to allow for multiple devices. The Google Authentification, as in your Google ID, is hereby the best and safest way to provide your content.
    • (Performance): To improve the quality and experience of SonicTonic, we collect general information, as in frequent users of the app or tracking which tonic is liked best. These informations are not personal and can’t be used to collect personal informations about you.
  • Whether data will be disclosed to third parties (not just a generic but a specific description to whom the data will be disclosed):

    • Your data will not be shared with third parties.
  • What rights users have, in terms of withdrawal of consent and deletion of data:

    • All users are able to demand a deletion of their SonicTonic data. However, we do not recommend deleting any data, since we only store your Google ID to identify your previous purchases and give your back what you have paid for. A deletion of the information and the index to your content will result in a loss of possession, since we are not able to reinstate your tonic store without any information about you.
Data Collection

What data do we collect?

Information Collection

While using our Site, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to your name (“Personal Information”).

Google Authorization

Google gives everyone a unique Google ID, which identifies you in the Google Play Store as well as through all your In-App-Purchases. This ID is being used to e.g. verify users by being a central information point of the users actions.

Quantitative Analytics

SonicTonic uses performance optimisation tool, which quantifies the data it collects to visualise and predict results about the performances. SonicTonic uses the data to collect relevant information about its tonics, as in overall play count.

Cookies (Website only)

Cookies are files with small amount of data, which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a web site and stored on your computer’s hard drive. Like many sites, we use “cookies” to collect information. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Site.

Data Usage

How do we use your data?

Google ID

Your Google ID is only being used to identify your previous purchase content. This is the most convenient way, as it does not require you to open up a separate SonicTonic account with us, but gives us enough verification to allow your tonics to appear on multiple devices that run the same ID.

Performance Optimisation Tool

Any quantitative information we receive is non-personal, as it can’t be reflected on the individual user of SonicTonic. It furthermore is sorely for the purpose of improving our content and making our product more enjoyable for our user.

We may use your Personal Information to contact you with newsletters, marketing or promotional materials and other information.
